Hi William, I was wondering if you could identify this song. I heard it when I was a young child, it's from the 80's and the band was a british band. All I remember is the chorus with the lyrics "And I'm running away from home, ... miles from home/here" The ... is something like "several" or "a thousand" or something like that. The rest of the song is the singer talking instead of actually singing, and the music video features people (possibly the band members) travelling through parts of a country, what looks like England.
I'm sorry I can't provide too much more information, but maybe this rings a bell?

There is a song released in August 1988 by the group A-Ha. They were from norway and famous for their song "take on me"

They did a song , that i mentioned earlier that was released in August 1988 called: Hurry home
