Hi Adrian,

I chanced upon your query.

The song you are looking for is "To Be With You" recorded under Joe Cuba with vocals by Cheo Feliciano and Jimmy Sabater, Sr. in 1962.

Then, a disco version came out in 1976 with Jimmy Sabater, Jr.

And in 1988, freestyle artist Noel covered the classic track for his debut album.

I am not sure which version you heard in the past.

I hope this helps.

The 80s: a decade where the music was grand. i learned a great deal on the wonderworkings of new wave artists; those pop-rock ditties were remarkable, yet the laid-back love songs were always as good as it was then. as regards artists and their songs,i maybe of help though i'm partial to rap, country, and metal. I am also a smooth jazz junkie and may have infos to take you along a splendid music cruise in our time.
