The song is HI-FIDELITY from the television series FAME which was a spin-off of the 1980 movie of the same name. It was credited to KIDS FROM FAME. The lead vocals were provided by DORIS SCHWARTZ who played the character of VALERIE LANDSBURG in the TV series. Here's its lyrics:
