80s Music/Tracy

Question
I have 9 cassette tapes by "Tracy", one with "Tony". At least some are from early 80s. They are pop songs and are not originals. I think she is from the Philippines. I bought the tapes in Saudi Arabia but I live in the US. Album examples are "Weekend","da..da..da", "mississippi", and "I don't want to talk about it". Do you know anything about her?

Answer
Dear Frank,

I know who's the "mystery" singer behind your cassette tapes. She's a popular songstress this side of the globe, in East Asia to be exact. Well, she's not from the Philippines but from our northern neighbor country, TAIWAN and her name is TRACY HUANG. She became popular in the 70's and 80's with Chinese and English albums alike mostly released in Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Some of her hit albums were (as you mentioned) MISSISSIPPI (1977), I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT (1977), WEEKEND (with Tony) (1982). Expertise

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.

Experience

Let's just say music is my life and my source is a lifetime of knowledge about 80's music and then some.
