The man that you heard singing the chorus of JUST A FRIEND by BIZ MARKIE is none other than the rapper himself. The rap song also sampled FREDDIE SCOTT's (You) GOT WHAT I NEED including the melody, beat and part of the lyrics. JUST A FRIEND was taken from the album THE BIZ NEVER SLEEPS released in 1989. JUST A FRIEND turned out to be the lone Hot 100 hit for BIZ MARKIE peaking at No. 9 on March 17, 1990.
