80s Music - female vocal 80's song featuring a telephone operator

Expert: Sebastini - 9/21/2009

Question
Hi Seb, hope you can help , going out of my mind trying to find this song. It is a slowish synth type song from the 80's , definitely features a female voice like a telephone operator , really catchy chorus something like i'm sorry in the lyrics. The song is almost like a telephone conversation in parts where the operator says some recorded spoken type vocals over the music. I don't think it was a big hit from the 80's as I have been through every complilation I can find.  pls pls help if you know. thanks so much.

Answer
hello andrew, there probably are other tunes that comes to mind but i can only think of one song that might fit your clues, it's "Clouds Across The Moon" by the RAH Band. The RAH Band ironically was not a group, it contained one man, RAH being the initials for Richard Anthony Hewson. In 1985, the soul ballad “Clouds Across the Moon” which was recorded in conjunction with his wife, reached number 6 in the UK Chart. In July 2007 Hewson released a re-mixed “Clouds Across The Moon ‘07” featuring vocalist Emma Charles.
