Question
Would like to ask why America's Inspector Mills which is a very popular tune here in the Phils did not even make the US Billboard chart. Also, would you know why Eagles decided not to release Desperado? It could have been a big hit. Thanks!

Answer
"Desperado",one of Eagles' signature songs was never released as a single, but first appeared on the 1973 album Desperado, and has later appeared on numerous compilation albums. Henley stated in the notes written in the booklet to Eagles' 2003 "The Very Best Of" compilation, that "Desperado" was a piece of a song that he had written in 1968 and "was called something else, but it was the same melody, same chords". "Desperado" was voted #494 in the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

America's popularity was almost entirely in the 70s, where they score #1 hit and a Grammy for best new musical artist. After a decade they got noticed again via "You Can Do Magic" in 1982 but "Inspector Mills" probaby didn't hit the liking of the American audience, though quite a wonder when every Pinoy loved that tune.

The 80s: a decade where the music was grand. i learned a great deal on the wonderworkings of new wave artists; those pop-rock ditties were remarkable, yet the laid-back love songs were always as good as it was then. as regards artists and their songs,i maybe of help though i'm partial to rap, country, and metal. I am also a smooth jazz junkie and may have infos to take you along a splendid music cruise in our time.
