80s Music/Song with 'rain' in the lyrics

Question
Hello, I'm afraid I don't have much to go on. I'm looking for the name of a song that I'd heard back in the late 80s / early 90s. All I remember is that the refrain has something about waiting in the rain or standing in the rain. It was a male vocalist / band and I think it was sort of modern rock / post new-wave. It might also be true that the accompanying music sort of dropped out at the beginning of the refrain.

There's really not much to work on. During those era (late 80's-early 90's), there were 2 THE RAIN songs I knew, one was the more popular THE RAIN by ORAN "JUICE" JONES from 1986 and the other by ROXETTE from 1992. I'm not really counting on those to provide you the correct answers.
