QuestionHi Bong,
I used to listen to 99.5 RT late at night (after 12:00 midnight) and there was this song with the refrain that sounded like "Looking for the lights, somewhere they'll find me, looking for the lights". I have been trying to find this but to no avail. Appreciate any help that you could provide. Thanks.
Paul
AnswerDear Paul,
I love that song and yes, it's nice to hear especially after midnight. The song's mouthful title is NOBODY SAID IT WAS EASY (Lookin' For The Lights) and performed by LeROUX. They are a pop rock band founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by JEFF POLLARD. Their former name was LOUISIANA'S LeROUX, roux being the name of a Cajun gravy base used to make gumbo. In 1981 they released LAST SAFE PLACE, their most successful album and 4th overall release. It included NOBODY... which was their only Top 40 hit peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart on April 17, 1982. Here's its lyrics:
NOBODY SAID IT WAS EASY (Lookin' For The Lights) / LeROUX
It's just another daydream
The kids will be okay
It's just another detour
They haven't lost their way
They're lookin for the lights
Somewhere they're shining
Lookin for the lights
Oh oh
Lookin for the lights
That silver lining
Lookin for the lights
Oh oh
Sometimes you hate it
Sometimes you love it
Sometimes you don't know
What to think of it
Nobody said it was easy
Nobody said it was
Nobody said it was easy
Nobody said it
Now is not time to give up
Some they love the money
Some they love the fame
Some they don't love anything at all
I don't know why they came
Lookin for the lights
Somewhere they're shining
Lookin for the lights
Oh oh
Lookin for the lights
That silver lining
Lookin for the lights
Oh oh
Sometimes you hate it
Sometimes you love it
Sometimes you don't know
What to think of it
Nobody said it was easy
Nobody said it was
Nobody said it was easy
Nobody said it
Now is not time to give up
Maraming salamat po!!
