Question
Hi! I enjoy the music from the 80s. But there's a particular song, it's not very popular. I don't know the title or the artist, but the refrain goes like this " You were right, and I was wrong, now I sing here with this song, to try & somehow tell you, that I'm sorry. You were right , & I was wrong, now I stand here all alone to try & somehow bring you back to me.....Baby, you were always right, & I was wrong....."

I wonder if you can help me with the title and artist of this song? Thank you.

Answer
Dear Jessy,

The song you're looking for is "You Were Right" by Gene Cotton. If my memory serves me right, this song was released in 1978. His other notable hits are "Before My Heart Finds Out" and "You're A Part of Me" (Duet with Kim Carnes), to name a few.
