Question
I wonder of the name and artist of a great song I heard, a very fast and hard song that sounds like it could be french or possibly german punk rock and probably a couple decades old.

Sorry to say that the only clip I have found containing it is in a soft porn video but i really want to know the answer. http://www.redtube.com/3744

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Axel,

Thanks to my SoundHound smartphone app, I was able to identify the song -and, thankfully, the app identified it quickly before I saw too much :).  The song is "Poupee De Cire" by Wizo, a 1995 cover of a popular France Gall song from 1965, "Poupee de cire, poupee de son"# The song is sung in French, but Wizo is a German punk band# The France Gall version of the song was written by Serge Gainsbourg and won the Eurovision songwriting competition in 1965, but not for France# The song was an entry by Luxembourg# Wizo's cover appears on their 1995 CD called Herrenhandtasche# The song title is translated in English as "Wax Doll"#

Here is a link to a Youtube recording of Wizo's version, so you can confirm: http://www#youtube#com/watch?v=kU4HZ5G8ocs

Thanks,
Erick
