Expert: Bong Santos - 10/15/2006

Hi Bong,

I emailed Katie this question also but all she said was "it is outside of her expertise" but I dont really think it is, maybe you can help.  

There is part of a "mix of 1988" done by a very famous mixer from Northern California named CameronPaul.  He basically takes all the songs of one year and mixes them all together.  I have a clip of the song from the mix and was hoping that I could email you if the lyrics below are not sufficient so you can listen to it and then see if you can figure out who the artist is.  The song goes something like this and sounds like an African American female:

"show me the way that you did before,
cant you see its got me wanting you more,
(next what I think is the chorus)
if the time is right for love,
gonna hold you tight til morning light,
I would thank the stars above,
if you love me tonight,
when the time is right"

I would appreciate any help from you or another expert on the site.  Thank you.

Dear Aman,

I have heard of Cameron Paul. In the past, I heard some songs that he mixed (Push It, etc.). Somehow his remixes of songs remain a mystery to me.
Looking at the lyrics you gave, I can't seem to figure it out. Must be some club hits I admit I'm not very good at. But you can try sending me a copy of it.
