I've had a song running thru my head for the last 20 years. It probably came out roughly '84-5.  It's by a black guy who does an 80's rap about losing his girlfriend then has the audacity to "sing" the chorus, off key I might add.
The chorus goes like this.
"You, got a hold on me, but you say he's just a friend, you say he's just a friend, oh baby...repeat”
I really have no idea how the song goes.  I'm usually laughing to hard to hear the song.  
Any help would be great.  I seem to be the only one who remembers this song.

Now, there's the two of us who remembers the song. I actually loved it.

That would be JUST A FRIEND by BIZ MARKIE. BIZ MARKIE is an African-American East Coast hip-hop artist know for humorous singles such as this big hit from 1989. His real name is MARCELL HALL. JUST A FRIEND was from his 1989 album THE BIZ NEVER SLEEPS. It went to #9 on the Hot 100 Chart back in March 17, 1990. Here's how it goes:
