Question
QUESTION: Who did the song "Girl you're everywhere that I'm Not"
Thanks this has been a hard one

ANSWER: Dear Scott,

I'm not so sure but you're probably talking about EVERYWHERE THAT I'M NOT by TRANSLATOR. TRANSLATOR are STEVE BARTON (guitar), BOB DARLINGTON (guitar), LARRY DEKKER (bass) and DAVE SCHEFF (drums). The song, their most popular, came from their album HEARTBEATS AND TRIGGERS (1982). Here's its lyrics:

EVERYWHERE THAT I'M NOT / TRANSLATOR

I thought I saw you.
Out on the avenue.
But I guess, it was just someone
Who looked a lot like I remeber you do.

'Cause, I thought I heard your voice.
In a bar, making a choice.
But, no. It was just someone
Who sounded a lot like I remeber you do.

'Cause that's impossibe, that's im...
That's impossibe, that's imposs...
That's impossibe, that's impossible.
'Cause you're in New York, but I'm not.
You're in Tokyo, but I'm not.
You're in Nova Scotia, but I'm not.

Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
I'm Not, I'm Not, I'm Not.

I thought I felt your touch.
In my car on my clutch.
But I guess, it was just someone
Who felt a lot like I remeber you do.

'Cause that's impossibe, that's im...
That's impossibe, that's imposs...
That's impossibe, that's impossible.
'Cause you're in New York, but I'm not.
You're in Tokyo, but I'm not.
You're in Nova Scotia, but I'm not.
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
I'm Not, I'm Not, I'm Not.

(Instrumental Break)

I thought I saw you.
Out on the avenue.
But I guess, it was just someone
Who looked a lot like I remeber you do.

I thought I felt your touch.
In my car, bu no such luck.
No. I guess, it was just someone

Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not

(Oh, Come On!)

(Oh, Yeah, Yeah!)

You're Everywhere That I'm Not
You're Everywhere That I'm Not
You're Everywhere That I'm Not
Yeah, you're Everywhere That I'm Not

QUESTION: Who did the song with these lyrics: "I really got a problem, here. ----
Quit. No---- No"
Sung by female vocalist sounds like the Waitresses

Answer
Dear Scott,

You are damn right, THE WAITRESSES did that. The title was QUIT from their 1982 album WASN'T TOMORROW WONDERFUL. THE WAITRESSES were an experimental New Wave band from Kent, Ohio fronted by CHRIS BUTLER although lead vocals were provided by PATTY DONAHUE who died in 1996 of lung cancer. THE WAITRESSES were best known for the song I KNOW WHAT BOYS LIKE, the theme song to the TV show SQUARE PEGS and the Christmas punk song CHRISTMAS WRAPPING, covered in the past by SAVE FERRIS and the SPICE GIRLS. I KNOW WHAT BOYS LIKE was their only Hot 100 hit peaking at #62 on May 29, 1982. Here's its lyrics:

QUIT / THE WAITRESSES

Not one to be alarmist
panic's not really my style.
Dealing with my nervousness
and forcing a smile... see?
I'm good at coping
Cool, poised, self-controlled
No that's OK I'll be alright
These are coffee shakes, that's all
Quit Quit I can't Quit
Quit Quit I can't Quit

Eager for a challenge
Sure I wasn't over my head
Had the very best intentions
The tougher, the better, I said
I know you're very busy,
I can see you're working very hard,
but I'm scared
Don't want to interrupt you
But I've got to tell somebody
that there's big trouble here
Run for cover and say your prayers!

Everything was researched
followed the best advice
Spent days on end in reference
confirmed all sources twice
Realistic expectations
practical methods and tests
Confident in the outcome
final result this crisis
Quit Quit I can't Quit
Quit Quit I can't Quit

Every angle, every option
checked my facts again and again
Tore it apart a thousand times
and stood it on its head
Went over it and over it
considered different points of view
Put things in perspective
but I can't find the error
no ideas, no clues
Well, what the Hell am I supposed to do?

I've really got a problem here
...Quit... no... no problem

I'd rather not admit it
this is hard for me to say
I'm proud and independent
and I don't like to make mistakes
But all I need is a different slant
and objective overview
And I couldn't keep from thinkin'
just what it was you'd do
Quit Quit I can't Quit
Quit Quit I can't Quit

Maraming salamat po!!

Expertise

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.

Experience

Let's just say music is my life and my source is a lifetime of knowledge about 80's music and then some.
