I was able to find out from a friend that the group I was thinking of was The Lightning Seeds, and the song was "All I Want".  Thank you so much for trying to help me, though!

Hello,
I think this was a British group from the mid-late 80's.  They had a sound similar to Book of Love, but with a male singer.  Its not anything obvious like Depeche Mode or Duran Duran, definitely more obscure.  Its also not Cause & Effect, Soft Cell, Camouflage, Prefab Sprout or the Housemartins.

Anyway, the word "Innocent" figures prominently in the chorus, and the lyrics went something like:
"All I want to do/ all I want to do
Is lay in the sun/ from now on
Stop what's going on/ stop what's going wrong
You've been innocent/ for too long"

another part of the lyrics goes something like:
"I want to take you in my arms again
And make you believe that now is then
You'll be innocent from now on"..... or something like that!
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

One really obscure song. I can't even find information on the group. Or if they are the one who originally sang it. At least, this will help you a bit, I hope. I'm not sure though but they seem to have similar lyrics. Check it out. WARTEN by HOFFMANN HOFFMANN

Thanks too for writing in. Sorry Ive not been of help. The lyrics are not too clear I've mistaken it for another song. Anyway, ALL I WANT is a cut from THE LIGHTNING SEEDS 1989 album CLOUDCUCKOOLAND. Here's how it goes:
