Question
boss bong, do you know which artist sang the original version of "Golden Boy"? Rivermaya made a remake.

Some lines of the song include :

"native walls are falling..."

and

"he's just a local boy
it's good/just he doesnt know..."

and in the end :

"..ang tatay mong kalbo"

thanks in advance, man

Answer
Dear Patrick,

GOLDEN BOY was originally done by early 80's punk rock group called ETHNIC FACES. They were composed of JACK SIKAT (lead vocals), RHANY TORRES (bass) and JAYVEE TORRES (drums). It was included in an album called DEKADA. It was remade by the band RIVERMAYA for their 2006 album ISANG UGAT, ISANG DUGO.

Maraming salamat po!

Expertise

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.

Experience

Let's just say music is my life and my source is a lifetime of knowledge about 80's music and then some.
