80s Music/Help find song - British male singer reference to buckingham palace?

Hi,
This is probably a long shot but I have a memory of a song from early to mid 80s probably by a British band, male singer. I think of the song as pretty dark--actually I think the song refers to it being night. If I remember correctly the lyrics also refer to London and have to do with a man hearing shots and hearing about trouble with Buckingham palace. The lyrics of "Scoundrel Days" by A-HA remind me of this song if that helps.
I've been trying to remember this song for years and just stumbled on this website. Any clues to help me in my search would be great!

Man, I can't remember what the song you are talking. I have no idea. The closest I have is LONDON CALLING by THE CLASH. I could be wrong, though. Please mail the other experts, they may know the answer.
