Question
I've been searching endlessly for a popular song of the 80s. A clip of this song was played in the movie Disney Pixar's Cars when on route 66. Its a really nice hot sax song and I was wondering if you had a clue what I was talking about. If you know anyone that would know the name of that song please ask. Oh, and it is purely instrumental. I thought it was by Kenny G but I have my doubts. I also hear that it is played on the radio (98.1 CHFI) but I never seem to catch it while it is playing. Please help me if you can. It's KENNY G's song alright. But it's not his original version of SONGBIRD that was used in the movie when some funny-looking over-modified cars tried to lull MACK to sleep while driving down Route 66.
Of course, KENNY G's SONGBIRD was a 1987 hit out of his 1986 album DUOTONES. It went to #4 on the Hot 100 Chart on July 11, 1987.
