Question
Ok the song Im looking for came out in the early to mid 80s. I remember the video on MTV. But I have not seen it since then. The song I believe is called the cry song or make me wanna cry or You dont know (cry song). I dont know if that will help. But I remember the video was just faces changing from one to the next crying. I also remember hearing it on a rerun of miami vice.

Answer
Dear Robb,

Ok, I got it!! It's enough clues you had. The title is CRY by music video directors KEVIN GODLEY & LOL CREME, collectively they were an English pop duo known as GODLEY & CREME. CRY was from their 1985 album HISTORY MIX VOL. 1, co-produced by J.J. JECZALIK of THE ART OF NOISE and includes remixed samples of their previous recordings. Its music video contained early use of morphing technology which was very influential in later videos such as MICHAEL JACKSON's BLACK AND WHITE. CRY peaked at No. 16 on the Hot 100 Chart on October 5, 1985. Here's how it goes:

CRY / GODLEY & CREME

You don't know how to ease my pain
You don't know
You don't know how to ease my pain
You don't know what the sound is darlin'
It's the sound of my tears fallin'
Or is it the rain?
You don't know how to play the game
You cheat
You lie
You make me wanna cry
You make me wanna cry
Cry...
You make me wanna cry
You don't know how to ease my pain
You don't know
You don't know how to ease my pain
Don't you hear any voices cryin'?
That's the sound of my love(?) dyin'
Here comes the rain
You don't know how to play the game
You cheat
You lie
You don't even know how to say goodbye
You make me wanna cry
You don't know
You don't even know how to say goodbye
You make me wanna cry
You don't even know how to say goodbye
You make me wanna cry
Cry...
Cry (x3)

Maraming salamat po!!

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.
