80s Music/Looking for song by Asia?

Question
Yes, I don't think any of the bands you mentioned was the right one. I also searched the internet and came up with all those bands like ABBA etc., but I know it is nonoe of those. I think it is a more well known band, yet I really can't think of it. The song's title might be something else, yet I am pretty sure they are singing this line.
Unfortunately there isn't much more I can tell you, except maybe that when they sing the line, it is several guys singing it together I think, and it goes like "So long... so long... (then one guy sings a line I dont remember the words at all).. So long, so long... (and then he sings something like 'coming back to you too', although of those words I am not sure at all). Too bad I can't give you the melody of this through here, as I do remember that too.
I remember the song starts out very instrumental with some nice guitar tune. And I am pretty sure the song was probably from somewhere in the 80's, but like I said it could have been early nineties as well, as I think when I heard the song was maybe around 1991 or 1992 (but I think the cd was older than that).
Thank you so much for any help! I am sorry I can't give you more clues.
Daniela

Question -
Hello,

Years ago I borrowed a cd from a library and recorded a song on cassette, and I dont have the cassette any more and for the longest time forgot what the song was called, but I really really liked it. For some reason I thought it was from the album "Aqua" by Asia, yet I listened to some of their previews on allofmp3.com and could not find it. I just happened to remember that I am pretty sure the song was called "So Long". I remember it has some guitar in the beginning, and the main lyrics go like "So long, So long...", and it is a slower song. I know there is a song titled "So long, so long", but I dont think that is it (the one I am looking for would be titled just "So long"). I can't seem to find it online.
I think what I am looking for is from the 80s, but it might possibly be early 90s. Do you have any idea what song I am looking for? I still really think it was Asia for some reason.. or at least a similar band.
Thanks for any help!

Answer -
Dear Daniela,

I found out SO LONG was used at least a hundred times as a song title, from ELLA FITZGERALD to ABBA to MOBB DEEP. Honestly, you gave me a very vague clue. Listing down some SO LONG songs from the 80s (only rock genres) gave me this result: 999 (1980), BARRABAS (1982), FLYING SAUCERS (1982) and by TOM TROCOLLI'S DOG. I doubt if any of this group is the answer. I tried looking over ASIA's discography and found nothing titled SO LONG, although in their song VOICE OF AMERICA from their 1985 album ASTRA, the line SO LONG, SO LONG was heard once, "so long, so long I've waited now to hear you again." You could have given me the wrong lines, think it over again, try to give more clues to work on. Then write to me again. I'd really like to help you.

Answer
Dear Daniela,

Thanks for understanding. Don't worry, if at all I figured out the answer, I will post a follow up. Meantime, you can try sending me a link of your voice humming the song. That could work. Some questioners actually do that. Good luck!
