I know a few lines from a song, but can't remember who it is by or the name of it.  I thought it was called "If You Were Mine" but I've had no luck searching with that. I'm not sure if it's late 80's or early 90's.  The lyrics I know are as follows:
If you were mine, I'd take you on a trip around the world...If you were mine, I'd buy you diamonds and pearls...

Can you please help me find out who sings this song and the songs title? I would really appreciate it. I've been trying to figure this out for MANY years.  Thanks!

You are very much correct, it is titled IF YOU WERE MINE by the Portland, Oregon quintet U-KREW (short for UNTOUCHABLE KREW). They were signed to Enigma Records and released one self-titled album. The group was formed by programmer/producer LARRY BELL and vocalist LARRY MOORE and also includes KEVIN MORSE, LAVELL ALEXANDER and JAMES McCLENDON. They released their only album in 1989 with IF YOU WERE MINE peaking at #24 on the Hot 100 on April 14, 1990. The album also features their only other Hot 100 hit, LET ME BE YOUR LOVER, #68 on June 23, 1990. The group split afterwards. Here's how it goes:
