QuestionAko po ulit, matagal na po akong naghahanap ng album ng Nailclippers, kahit po sa net (blogs and forum) I haven't found a single information about them i feel i'm the only one who remembers them, they came before Menudo and I remember them singing the Japanese versions of Boy (I love you) and Gloria,,, could you share some information about them and some tracks you might have? Thanks again sir Bong
AnswerDear Frisbee,
Sorry for the rather late reply.
NAILCLIPPERS was a group of pre-teens singer (5 or 6 members, I think, not sure of this) who were based in Japan. They sing and dance a la MENUDO and TOTO & HIS CHILDREN. In 1979, they recorded an album for VICOR MUSIC CORPORATION releasing their debut album NAILCLIPPERS featuring the songs HETO NA KAMI, DANCING QUEEN (cover of the ABBA hit song) and the Japanese version of CHERIE GIL's BOY (I LOVE YOU). But their popularity soared when they recorded their second album BAHAY-BAHAYAN which includes the Tagalog version of LAURA BRANIGAN's GLORIA. In 1981, they were included in a musical/comedy film called BAKIT BA GANYAN which stars DINA BONNEVIE and ALBERT MARTINEZ. Their last known recording was their 1985 interpretation of the song PAG-IBIG SA ATING MUSIKA for the 8th Metropop Music Festival. Unfortunately, I don't have the names of their members except the lone female member DIANNE SERRANO-PONS.
I don't have their music as well.
Maraming salamat po!!
