80s Music/Saxaphone Song?

Question
Hi there, I hope you can help me.

I am the biggest spirit of the 80's music fan around. I was born in 76, and I don’t think there was a day in the 80's my mother didn’t have the radio on, or one of her tapes playing.

I'm trying desperately to find an song, that I cannot get out of my head, I deem as coming from the 80's era.
This song has a male singer, and when he does sing it is lower then the saxophone solo that over powers, his verse. The saxophone solo plays about 3-4 times in the entire song, and its very distinct and crisp sounding.
I'd have to say this song would be considered a memorable sexy love song of the 80's.
I'd have to compare the guy singing voice to that of a softer Paul McCartney.
If you were an 80's DJ at one time, I'm sure you have played this song before, It's a very powerful song, it almost seems like the saxophone solo and the lyrics don’t belong in the same song, but it works well together.

And a final hint, the song is not "We belong to the city - Glen Frey, but this song gives you the same good uplifting pleasant feeling as this saxophone solo does.

Hope you can help me, thanks in advance, Mike.

Answer
The one that immediately pops to my mind is "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty.  There is a very distinctive saxophone solo that occurs throughout the song.  Here are the lyrics, I hope this helps, and if not, good luck!

Artist: Gerry Rafferty Lyrics
Song: Baker Street Lyrics
Windin' your way down on Baker Street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
Well another crazy day
You'll drink the night away
And forget about everything
This city desert makes you feel so cold.
It's got so many people but it's got no soul
And it's taking you so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it had everything

You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're tryin'
You're tryin' now
Another year and then you'll be happy
Just one more year and then you'll be happy
But you're cryin'
You're cryin' now

Way down the street there's a lad in his place
He opens the door he's got that look on his face
And he asks you where you've been
You tell him who you've seen
And you talk about anything

He's got this dream about buyin' some land
He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands
And then he'll settle down there's a quiet little town
And forget about everything

But you know he'll always keep movin'
You know he's never gonna stop movin
Cus he's rollin'
He's the rollin' stone

And when you wake up it's a new mornin'
The sun is shinin' it's a new morning
You're goin'
You're goin' home.

I worked in radio for nearly 10 years, and I especially love 80`s music! My area of expertise leans more toward pop and hair bands, not so much new wave or punk. Hope I can help you!

Experience

As I mentioned above, I worked in radio for nearly 10 years, plus I have an all encompassing love of music!
