Hello,
There was a song in the 80's by a male group/artist... that went something like " I was only dreaming. I was only trying to catch your eye"... I think it was called dreaming or dreamin'... does that ring a bell?

I believe your song may be "I Was Only Dreamin'" by Bryan Adams. However, this song was released on his 2004 album. It may have sounded as if it were from the 80s, or I may have the wrong song completely. This is the only possibility I have found. In that time I have collected hunderds of pieces of musical memorabilia (records, tapes, CDs, books, tour shirts, articles, posters, video albums, etc.) and read various books about their musical careers and personal lives from their birth and early youth to today. I can also bring forth many details about their discographies, tours, and collaborations at the blink of an eye.
As for 80s bands in general, I have been a fan for a while as well. My record collection has recently climbed above 250, and more are always being added. I also enjoy reading about the careers of bands of the 80s. I am also quick to match song lyrics to a title, or a title to a singer.
