Bong, I passed through the PI in 1988 and heard this song.  I bought a tape of it too, but I remember it being in English.  I thought the tape was called, "I don't go to USA".  The or song started off with someone saying, "*uck everbody on vacation".  And then the music started up.  Any ideas?  

Another music question for you.  When I was stationed in Korea, there was a song or mix that had Madonna's song holiday as the hook of the song.  But the song was a mix of someone singing lyrics like, "we are going on a lovely holiday, if you want to go....."  Any ideas about those?  Thanks Bong!

Dear Frank,

Your first question is not very clear to me. So you thought the song was I DON'T GO TO USA but it's not. You mentioned about THAI NA NA and I believe it was part of the lyrics. That was back in 1988 when you passed by our country. It made a little sense as there was a dance hit here back in 1987 titled THAI NA NA by KAZERO. It was released late 1986 but made it big here in 1987. I just wasn't sure about the intro.

With regards to your second question, no doubt it was the song HOLIDAY RAP by MC MIKER G & DJ SVEN. They were a hip hop duo from the Netherlands consisted of LUCIEN WITEVEEN (MC MIKER G) and SVEN VAN VEEN (DJ SVEN). They were formed in 1986 when they hatched the idea for a version of MADONNA's hit HOLIDAY. It became an international hit in late 1986 and early 1987 becoming No. 1 in 34 countries including the Philippines. They had another cover hit called CELEBRATION RAP based on the KOOL & THE GANG hit. Here's its lyrics:
