I have been searching for about 10 years for a rock song played on the radio here in Brisbane, Australia back in 1986/7.

This is all I have to go on. The song lyrics are:
Silent Crying...But Now I'm Getting mad. I am not sure if the song is titled Silent Crying or Silent Cry or Silent Cries.
It could be from an Australian artist/American or British as FM104 here in Brisbane used to play all styles of rock. They did not play pop/dance songs so you can rule any of this style of music out.

The lyrics are kinda short. My hands are tied trying to work on your clues. Or maybe it was by an Australian band that never became a hit up here. There's not too many songs titled SILENT CRYING (or SILENT CRY or CRIES). And there's only one from the 80's, 1988 that was. SILENT CRYING by FATES WARNING from their 1988 album NO EXIT. I just don't find it similar with the lyrics you gave. Check it out:
