Question
Hi Bong! How's it going? I'm so glad I came across this site tonight, kasi, I've been going crazy looking for these 3 songs I used to listen to when I was a kid. LOL Um, I was wondering if you could help me out -- who are the artists for the dance songs "Wanted" and "Body Language" (I believe Frieda Fonda danced to it and made that song popular) and also, I would like to find out where/how I can get a copy of "Don't Stop Trying" by Rodway, one of the featured songs for "Communicate Dance Contest" @ Eat Bulaga! (I used to have it on cassette tape). Anyways, I'd really be so thrilled if you could give me some assistance with these songs :) Thanks so much in advance. My email addy is kalista2k@yahoo.com

Answer
Dear Kalista,

So you were a kid when these songs (esp. Body Language) were a hit. We must be of the same age.

Anyways, WANTED and BODY LANGUAGE were both sung by THE DOOLEYS, a brothers and sisters act from UK made up of JIM, JOHN, FRANK, MARIE, ANNE and KATHY DOOLEY. WANTED was lifted from their album THE CHOSEN FEW released in 1979. It was such a big hit in Japan, they were invited to participate in the 1980 Tokyo Music Festival. They won second prize with...BODY LANGUAGE. It was from their 1980 album FULL HOUSE. By the way, PIA MORAN made that song popular here in the Philippines, a lot of people remember FRIEDA FONDA mainly because she danced to it a lot in T.O.D.A.S. (and you know T.O.D.A.S. was No. 1 then).

As for your other song, I'm going to send you the RODWAY song. Without you knowing it, you helped me recall the title of that dance contest. I was thinking about it for a long time, COMMUNICATE.

Maraming salamat po!!

Expertise

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.

Experience

Let's just say music is my life and my source is a lifetime of knowledge about 80's music and then some.
