Question
Hi Bong,
A while back somebody asked you a question that I want to expand on, although I still don't have the answer.  I'm just searching for the same song!  At least, I can only imagine this is the case.  I don't know about Boulevard in the title, but the song I am seeking is known mostly for a popular and powerful sounding saxophone solo which Lisa Simpson "played" in an episode of The Simpsons where Bleeding Gums Joe died.  She plays it at the very end, I think.  It was popular well before then, and we're supposed to recognize it when ashe plays it.  I believe the song is about the city.  Although I want my personal info kept private, you can post the question for other readers.  Maybe they can add info.  Anyway, here is the original question somebody asked:

Question
i need to know who sings this song but i don't know the lyrics. i think it might have boulevard in the title but the main part has a very recognizable sax solo that is the main chorus of the song. the actual singing parts are low and don't stand out like the sax part. i know this is not much to go on but i thought i would try

Answer
Dear Diane,

Thanks for writing in. I don't know if it's the same answer as the one who asked me about "boulevard". But the one you are asking is called JAZZMAN by CAROLE KING. A cut from her WRAP AROUND JOY album from 1974, it spent a week at #2 on the Hot 100 Charts on November 9, 1974. Written by DAVE PALMER and CAROLE KING, the sax part was performed by noted alto sax player TOM SCOTT.

It was prominently featured on THE SIMPSONS' 125th episode and the 22nd episode of the sixth season (aired April 30, 1995) titled ROUND SPRINGFIELD when BLEEDING GUMS MURPHY dies. LISA SIMPSON sang CAROLE's part while BLEEDING GUMS MURPHY did the sax part (DAN HIGGINS in actual).

Here's its lyrics:

JAZZMAN / CAROLE KING

Lift me, won't you lift me above the old routine
Make it nice, play it clean, Jazzman

When the Jazzman's testifyin'
A faithless man believes
He can sing you into paradise
Or bring you to your knees
It's a gospel kind of feelin'
A touch of Georgia slide
A song of pure revival
And a style that's sanctified

Jazzman, take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours
With every change you play
Jazzman, oh, Jazzman

When the Jazzman's signifyin'
And the band is windin' low
It's the late night side of morning
In the darkness of his soul
He can fill a room with sadness
As he fills his horn with tears
He can cry like a fallen angel
When risin' time is near

Jazzman, take my blues away
Make my pain the same as yours
With every change you play

Oh, lift me, won't you lift me with every turnaround
Play it sweetly, take me down, oh, Jazzman

Maraming salamat po!
