My apology for the rather late reply.

BECAUSE, written by DAVE CLARK, was an original song performed by DAVE CLARK FIVE and appeared on their 1964 albums AMERICAN TOUR (debut US album) & RETURN!. It went to No. 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart on December 12, 1964. In 1985, JULIAN LENNON recorded a cover version for that year's musical titled DAVE CLARK'S TIME.

NEVER MY LOVE, meanwhile appeared on the Hot 100 a total of five times. Written by DON & DICK ADDRISI, NEVER MY LOVE was an original by THE ASSOCIATION from their 1967 album INSIGHT OUT. They took it to No. 2 on the Hot 100 on October 7, 1967. In 1968, THE SANDPEBBLES scraped the charts at No. 98 on October 26, 1968. The 5th DIMENSION also had a version which peaked at No. 12 on November 23, 1971. It's from their compilation album GREATEST HITS ON EARTH released in 1972. BLUE SWEDE had a version that went as high as No. 7 on October 19, 1974, it's a cut from their HOOKED ON A FEELING album. Finally, the songwriters, THE ADDRISI BROTHERS also had a hit with it, taking it to No. 80 on December 24, 1977 from their self-titled album. NEVER MY LOVE also was a Country hit for VERN GOSDIN (1978) & THE KENDALLS (1979) and an R&B hit for CHILL FACTOR (1988). In 1994, contemporary Christian music's KATHY TROCCOLI recorded a version for her 1994 self-titled album.
