I too, remember an R&B song from this time period (1987-1989) and it was sung by a woman but I thought that the ending lyrics were something like...sweet memories, every time you and I surrender.
I too have looked but can't find the song. I heard it only a couple of time on a radio station in Charlotte, NC.
Would love to find the song.

I am looking as well, I know it's a female who sang it (may be in a group), but the first words were
moments to remember
the last line is:
sweet sweet sweet memories of you, sweet, sweet, sweet memories of you

The R&B group was known as Klymax and the lyrics went somewhat like this:
Sweet Memories...of the time you and I remember how it could be....sweet memories.
Well, that's all I remember about the lyrics. I'm looking for the song too.

Cleaning of the dusty shelf I saw your photograph. First time I've seen your face. Since I saw you last. Remebering like yesterday how we use to be. Now I'm wondering where you are and and if you still remember me. Sweet Memories. All the time you and I remember how it would be. Sweet memories all the time you and I remember how it would be.

Cleaning up, I dust a shelf I found a photograph. First time, I've seen your face, since I saw you last. Remembering like yesterday, how it use to be, can't help wondering were you are and if you still remember me...sweet memories of the time you and I remember how it use to be.......
I can't seem to find it either and I don't remember who the group was

That is not the song. I will remember shortly who sang it. The lyrics go something like this.
Cleaning off a dusty shelf
found a photograph.
First time I've seen your face
since I saw you last.
I remember the many walks
good time and bad a like.
And I will cherish with all the heart
these time with all of my heart.
Sweet Memories every time you and remember how it could be.
I think her name was Theresa.
