Don't know if this helps, but there is one I am going nuts trying to find as well. I "think" it's called "who's crying now" but I am not finding anything so far.

I think you'll find the gay reference to there being a 'lad' in his place is a little wide of the mark. There is, in fact, a 'light' in his place, which is why - knowing there is someone in - she calls by.

Just this morning, out of the blue, my brother phoned me and asked if I reconized a song (which he whistled part of), explaining that there was a sax solo and that the song was from either the 70s or 80s. Instantly I heard the distintive sax solo in my mind and knew a man started singing afterwards.

By attempting to do vague and random searches I came upon this particular question and answer page, and low and behold, this is exactly the song he was trying to remember!

Thank you for saving me a lot of time wracking my brain to recall a song that I've heard over and over since childhood.

I was up late the other night and one of those Time-Life music compilation info-mercials came on featuring none other than Air-Supply as it's spokespeople.  The background song used in several clips of the infomercial had a highly distinct saxaphone solo in it and I immediately recognized it as a song played in the early 80's by my Dad who was an on-air DJ in Orlando, Florida at the time.  I also had a hard time placing lyrics or a title/artist...  And, like the one asking the question here, I found myself throw in my Glen Frey track because I recalled it's sax, and I, too, was let down.

I went on Time-Life's infomercial web-page where they have sound clips of the CD's in the collection and BINGO...  there it was, Gerry Rafferty:  Baker Street.  If the song you're asking about isn't this song, I have no idea what song you're looking for and don't have anything I recall that is even close.  i LOVE saxaphone rock but don't know more than Frey and Rafferty with hits in this genre.

This is the song I have been looking for, so I just wanted to say thanks again.

Thanks a lot!

I've been searching for this song for many years.

I do not know if it is the song the original post asked, but it probably is
