Sorry for the late reply. A strong hurricane swept our place last week and power lines were down for several days including the internet.
That song would be WAITING FOR A STAR TO FALL by the then-husband-and-wife duo of GEORGE MERRILL & SHANNON RUBICAM (they divorced in early 2000's), collectively known as BOY MEETS GIRL. It is from their 1988 album REEL LIFE. The song peaked at #5 on the Hot 100 on December 17, 1988. Here's how it goes:
