Answer
Dear Ray,

Well, you thought it was J. GEILS BAND singing. Let's just say you are half-correct. But no matter where you search it, you will never find it as it was performed by the former lead singer of J. GEILS BAND, PETER WOLF. The song is LIGHTS OUT and it was from his first solo album after leaving the band in 1983 due to conflict with co-leader SETH JUSTMAN. JUSTMAN turned down songs written by WOLF with DON CONVAY & MICHAEL JONZUN, so he released it and the result was his solo album LIGHTS OUT. LIGHTS OUT, the song, peaked at #12 on the Hot 100 Chart on September 8, 1984.
Here's how it goes:

LIGHTS OUT / PETER WOLF

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love

I know that it's wrong
To be dancing with no lights on
And I know that it's wrong
To be holding you for so long

And for the rest of the night
I'll be holding you tight
So tight

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Oh, what can I do
All I need is to dance with you
And turn the lights down some more
We're the only ones left on the floor

Let the music play
I want to hold you this way
Girl, stay

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Sha-la-la-la-la
Ooooooh, holding you girl
Sha-la-la-la-la
Oh, baby, please

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast

Lights out
A-ha
Blast, blast, blast
Lights out

[Instrumental Interlude]

(A-ha)
(Blast, blast, blast)
(Lights out)

Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)
Dancing in the dark
To the radio of love
(Lights out, a-ha)

Dance, dance, dance
Radio of loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)
Shine on, loooove
(Oooooooh-hooooo, girl)
(In the dark)...

Maraming salamat po!

Expertise

I can answer just about everything from the 80`s, rock, pop, trivias, artist infos, Billboard chart positions, albums, etc. But songs that became hit in the Philippines and OPM songs are my expertise. I grew on 80`s music and still listening to 80`s music as it is the best era in music history for me. My friends call me the walking encyclopedia of 80`s music. I got books & collections of CDs, all from the 80`s.

Experience

Let's just say music is my life and my source is a lifetime of knowledge about 80's music and then some.
