artist somehow familiar to Mike Francis.  I know some of the words of
the song, it goes:

That song is called TEA FOR TWO performed by a French act from Marseilles called TIME AND LOVE. It was released back in 1984 produced by JACQUES MASSARD. It's considered an Italo disco tune.
