Was there an 80s song entitled "The Dream"? It was something like Swiss Boy, Pop Goes the World, Tonight and Never Mind although I'm not sure if it all came out the same year. It was well-played in the 80s. I can't give you any lines of the song, to that I'm so sorry. But my gf said the tune of that very song was made into parody on Tito, Vic and Joey's movie called SHOOT THAT BALL (1987).
I know this is tough but there's no harm in trying anyway.

Your girlfriend is right. It was "tagalized" for a Tito, Vic & Joey movie in 1987, SHOOT THAT BALL. The song is actually called A DREAM (DUMIO) by ROBERT GRACE. Recorded in 1986, it was a big hit here in Manila in early 1987.
