80s Music/another question
Expert: Bong Santos - 3/18/2007
QuestionHi bong! its me again. Thanks for the info you provided me last time. There's another song I want to ask you about. I can only remember the few starting lyrics. Sounds like Eric Carmen slow tempo song. The first line goes like.. "Another lonely night...". I'm sorry that's all I can remember. I rarely hear it kasi.
Best Regards
AnswerDear MJF,
That was a kinda hard question. Your clue is a little bit short. Too vague. I'm not too sure of this answer but I believe you're looking for American actor/singer AL CORLEY's OVER ME from his 1984 album SQUARE ROOMS. The title song became his lone American hit peaking at #80 on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 1, 1985. Here's the lyrics of OVER ME:
OVER ME / AL CORLEY
Another broken heart
Another tragic play
Another scene o' grievin'
Over and over.
A woman falls apart
She's beggin' me to stay
But I'm only leavin'
Over and over.
Refrain:
Why should I care?
How can it be?
I got used to gettin' to girls
And now one o' them gets to me.
Chorus:
She's over me, over me
Over me, she's over me
Over me, over me
She's over me, over me.
(Repeat 1st 2 lines)
My moves were mostly learned
My lines were well-rehearsed
I made a cool impression
Over, it's over.
I'm scared of gettin' burned
The roles have been reversed
My famous self-possession
Over, it's over.
Refrain:
Down on my knees
Don't ask me why
Same old Donna I've been playin' for years
But I'm playin' the other side
(Repeat Chorus)
(Instrumental)
(Repeat Chorus 2X to fade)
Maraming salamat po!!
