Question
I am trying to figure out a song from the late 80's or early 90's...a woman was singing about her grandmother and she was talking about better days and you have to be patient..and she said in one part of the song...that grandma got her wings..who is that?

Answer
hi yvonne,i'd like to help out on this one. the song you had in mind was "Better Days" (a.k.a. The Grandma Song), a nostalgic, soulful look back at the joys of being young, extremely curious and impatient when waiting for tomorrow and what it will bring, performed by Dianne Reeves. Though it was Dianne's biggest hit, she was one of the best jazz-based singers to emerge after names like Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and a few household names in the jazz genre.

The 80s: a decade where the music was grand. i learned a great deal on the wonderworkings of new wave artists; those pop-rock ditties were remarkable, yet the laid-back love songs were always as good as it was then. as regards artists and their songs,i maybe of help though i'm partial to rap, country, and metal. I am also a smooth jazz junkie and may have infos to take you along a splendid music cruise in our time.
