Quick question;

I'm looking for the song title and artist name of an 80s cut.
Female vocalist with a sort of unusual voice. The chorus goes:
"and I want, and I want, and I want and I want and I want and I
want you back.....  I want you back..... I want you back..... I want
you back....."

any help would be greatly appreciated....

A quick search using the lyrics you gave resulted in several I  WANT YOU BACK songs but not one of them has the exact words. I checked on all songs titled I WANT YOU BACK that was sung or was lead sung by a female and from the 80s and two songs came out of it. The first is I WANT YOU BACK by the Boston-based band THE THRILLS whose lead singer was a female whose name: BARB KITSON. It came from their lone album called CITY THRILLS from 1981. It could be the song you are looking for as the other song is by the all-female group BANANARAMA. Their I WANT YOU BACK is from their 1987 set WOW!. Unfortunately, I don't have lyrics of THE THRILLS song so we can't really say I gave you the right answer. I'll just cross my fingers.
