ABBA/ABBA in general

QuestionDear Mr Maclean,
I have recently unearthed in my attic a large collection of ABBA records (on vinyl) dating from the 70s, including a copy of "Chiquita" signed by Agnetha and Benny. I am not a particular fan of ABBA (something which I am sure you would like to remonstrate with me about!) and it was my dad who collected them (though mainly for the pictures of Agnetha I think!). My father having recently emigrated to South Africa I am now clearing out the house and as he no longer requires the LPs I thought I could sell them.
Would you be able to give me any valuation on them? There are 20 in total, including Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen, and the signed Chiquita as I mentioned. If you cannot yourself give me a valuation on line perhaps you could reccommend to me a dealer in vinyls/records in Southport where I live?
This would be of great help to me,
Yours Sincerely,
Colin Grice
AnswerThis is not strictly my area of expertise and i live nowhere near that Southport that you refer to, but i can try to offer some advice. Also, i was shocked to hear that you are not a fan, truly scandalous, a decision you should reconsider. You could try:
Abbey Records Limited - 21A Hoghton Street - Southport - Merseyside - U K PR9 0NS Telephone: +44 1704 501508 Fax: +44 1704 501609. All genre of rare vinyl records. Check out their Web Site for more information Email: info@abbeyrecords.com
Websites:
http://www.abbeyrecords.co.uk and
http://www.abbeyrecords.com
Or I could buy them from you for, say, about £800.
Yours, Calum
