AC/DC/lyrics to carey gulley

Question
Hi Bill,  I am a huge Bon Scott fan since my first AC/DC concert in 1979 at a
small venue in Iowa.  Wow were they something.  I love the song Carey
Gulley.  Just bought the Bon Scott "Early Years" cd for that song.  Do you know
the lyrics to that particular song.  I have looked at websites that I can
probably get it from but they want me to download stuff and accept cookies
from them.  Since my last computer virus I am distrustful of downloading just
anything.  Thanks Bill.

Answer
Hello Linda,

Thank you for your question. Yes, I do have the lyrics for the song "Cary Gully" as performed by the Mount Lofty Rangers (featuring Bon Scott on vocals) from 1974.

CAREY GULLY (C) Peter Head 1974

You go on down Piggy Lane through the flowers
That paint the hills as far as you can see
And that's where I while away my hours
Hours of eternity

In a little tin shed on the hillside
Where we site and drink our peppermint tea
And the candlelight flickers inside
'Cos we haven't got electricity

But I know I've found peace in Carey Gully
And I haven't known that state of mind before
And I sing as I walk down in the valley
'Cos those city things don' bother me no more
Well it's taken such a long time to get there
And we've travelled a long winding road
Now I site in my old rocking chair
And my darling I never will go.
