Question
There are strong indications from Brian Johnson that this will be his last tour, if not his last album, and I was wondering if you know anything more about this; would Angus and Malcolm consider hiring a new singer after almost thirty years with Brian (it may in fact be thirty years by the end of the tour), or would the band as a whole call it quits? I ask because their contract with Sony is publicly defined only as a "multi-album deal," and I don't know if that includes their recent DVD releases and CD reissues, and because I'd hate to see AC/DC call it quits before the Stones. If this is outside your current knowledge, I understand that; at this point, even Brian and the band may not know what's happening after the current tour.

Hello Jakk,

Thank you for your question. This is nothing but rumors, however, taken from an interview that Brian had done before the tour started saying he is getting old and that he would probably not be able to handle another major world tour again, but if the band wanted to do it with another singer he would be fine with that. Media tends to take such statements and can turn them into more than they were really meant.

I possess one of the world's largest AC/DC collections, and plan to have my own publication about the band in the future. I was hired in 2008 by a marketing firm to help promote and market AC/DC's "BLACK ICE" release and the AC/DC "Rock Band" game in New York City. I also have participated in several other marketing and promotional campaigns for AC/DC. Most recently, I have contributed to a new book by Phil Sutcliffe "AC/DC: The Ultimate Illustrated History" as well as penning an AC/DC Collectibles article for Record Collector magazine (UK).
