Question
QUESTION: The BBC Transcript service LP featuring AC/DC's extended version of Soul stripper! I'm having trouble finding it ... Is it a rare album .. what would it be worth to buy ? and I've heard it come's with Def leopards first live broadcast ... is this true?

ANSWER: Hello Mick,

Thank you for your question.
The BBC Transcription Services LP you are referring to is the 1976 album, which features AC/DC's performance from the Marquee in London from 7/26/1976 (Live Wire, It's A Long Way To The Top, Soul Stripper, and High Voltage). The B side includes Def Leppard.

Bootleg copies of this album were circulated in the early 1990's, and are fairly easy to come by, valued at approximately $40-50USD for a copy. The bootlegs will have black and white labels, and a fairly thin yellow LP sleeve with black text.

The original BBC LP's were all supposed to be destroyed after they were broadcast. A handful of these did escape this fate, and made their way out, most are in collectors hands, and valued at over $1,000USD, higher if the original also includes the original cue sheets from the radio broadcast.

Best Regards,

Bill

QUESTION: Firstly thank you very much for your time answering my question ... You rock !!!!... but i just have one follow on question "What would one of the orginal ones look like ?"

Answer
Hello Mick,

Thank you for your follow up question.
The original issue would be a white label with green text and BBC logo. The sleeve that the LP is housed in is a heavier stock paper, and darker yellow than the bootlegs in circulation.

Best Regards,

Bill
