Gidday Bill. I've heard that during the 2009/10 Xmas/New Year Black Ice tour break, AC/DC might be penning new tunes for the Australia/NZ last leg of their tour. Any truth to this rumour? Also, in the mid 80s I was visionary enough to purchase a first edition ACDC1 6 LP box set, with the Cold Hearted Man 12" and iron-on transfer. I still have the lot including original transfer, but thanks to reckless youth and no vision of future value, the LPs are well-worn, so too the box. Nevertheless, any clues on value for this "well loved" box set?

Thank you for your question.
I could not offer any confirmation to the validity of the rumor you heard about the band writing new songs. Highly unlikely that they are doing so right now, since Angus and Malcolm have been in Australia for the holidays, and the others back home.
I would say that a 'well loved' copy of this original Australian box set would be worth in the range of $40-50USD.

I possess one of the world's largest AC/DC collections, and plan to have my own publication about the band in the future. I was hired in 2008 by a marketing firm to help promote and market AC/DC's "BLACK ICE" release and the AC/DC "Rock Band" game in New York City. I also have participated in several other marketing and promotional campaigns for AC/DC. Most recently, I have contributed to a new book by Phil Sutcliffe "AC/DC: The Ultimate Illustrated History" as well as penning an AC/DC Collectibles article for Record Collector magazine (UK).
