AC/DC/Bon Scott Signature

Question

ACDC Bon & Angus?
Hi Bill,
I've read many of your replies over time and would greatly value your opinion on the attached. The vendor states among other things "BON SCOTT & ANGUS signatures on the pick guard obtained during 1979 Highway To Hell tour of the USA."
I have seen exemplars of Angus's from the same era which appear very comparable, though Bon's is obviously the one in question. I have only seen a couple of Bon genuine's but not in person. The lack of permanent markers from that point in time might weigh against this,  apart from the signature itself not having some of the usual characteristics, plus the fact his entire last name is included. If you could get back to me asap, I'd be grateful as the window to consider purchasing this, if in fact it is genuine is limited.

Answer
Hello Rob,

Thank you for your question.
The image that you attached of the autograph is a prime example of fraudulent autographs being passed off as authentic. This type of practice is common, and unfortunate, as the unsuspecting buyer is often fooled by the dealer providing "COA" (Certificate of Authenticity), when the reality of the matter is that a COA is not worth any more than the paper it is printed on.
I instantly can tell that this is a fake, and a poor one at that. Both the Bon AND the Angus signatures are fraudulent on this item.

Best Regards,
Bill
