Question
Hi.

I am trying to get together a full collection of first release Australian AC/DC lp's however I am confused as to the colours and which labels should have the roo on them.  Could you please tell me the what colour (and strobe markings) the first edition labels for all the various AC/DC Australian lp's should be? (And whether or not there should be a roo on the label).  Also, were all albums issued on LP?

Thanks for your help, Regards Shane

Answer
Hello Shane,

Thank you for your questions.
The early AC/DC Australia album editions would have dark blue Albert labels with the 'roo' (Kangaroo symbol). This would hold true for the first 3 AC/DC albums from Australia: "High Voltage", "T.N.T.", and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap".
The original first pressing of "Let There Be Rock" would also feature a blue Albert label, but no 'roo', as would the original "Powerage" and "If You Want Blood" albums. The first Australian pressing of "Highway To Hell" would be a black Albert label. "Back In Black" and "For Those About To Rock" original Australian pressings would feature red Albert labels with yellow borders. All of the albums to follow would be red Albert labels up until "The Razors Edge" album.
I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Bill
