Question
AC/DC signed guitar
AC/DC signed guitar
All Experts,
I have a very exquisite electric guitar that was signed by AC/DC in 1979. Signed in New York City when they were playing Madison Square Garden. It is signed by, Bon Scott, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams; along with them writing song titles and "sayings". It  has been authenticated; but I cannot find "someone" that can tell me what make and or model this guitar is... I will go out on a limb and say, it is somewhat important to know what I have... It looks like a Jackson Pro series Sunburst but there is no "Jackson" on the head. I wonder if you, or "someone" can recognize the "maker" of this guitar..?!!. Thank you so very much.! (Guitar Maker? Estimated worth in US $..??)

BTW, the album that is in the guitar case, "Let There Be Rock", signed by, Bon Scott, Angus and Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd and Mark Evans...!! "Who is the maker of this guitar?"..

Answer
Hello Darric,

Thank you for your question and including the photo.
I do not know exactly what model guitar this would be, however it is plainly obvious that it is either a Jackson or a Jackson-copy of a Jackson design that greatly pre-dates 1979.
Unfortunately I would have to say that in my opinion, the Bon Scott signature on this guitar is definitely not genuine, not only in regards to the obviousness that the guitar is a much later model than 1979 as well as to the appearance of the signature of itself.

The rest of the signatures (Cliff, Angus, Phil & Malcolm) could very well be genuine, however the scrawl of other comments/song titles in between the signature definitely are not. It is my belief that these were added after the fact (as was the Bon one), and because of this, this completely deteriorates the value of this item and the signatures on it.

Best Regards, Bill
