Question
I am having a nostalgia moment as I came across some ACDC videos on You Tube...I am trying to recall when I first saw the band in the 1977 time frame for the Powerage album. The concert was in Pittsburgh but I can't recall if it was in a small venue as an opening act for a band called U.K. (or UFO?) or if it was at the Civic Arena with an opening by Scorpions and a headline by Ted Nugent. The only tour dates that I have found are for 21 Dec 1977 but no listing of who else played. Any info on late 1970's Pittsburgh performances would be appreciated...

Thank you for your question. This would have actually been the "Highway To Hell" tour from 1979, AC/DC supported the band UFO at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, PA on June 13th, 1979.
AC/DC didn't touch down in Pittsburgh in 1978 during their "Powerage" tour, but did perform in 1977, during the 2nd leg of their "Let There Be Rock" tour, also at the Stanley Theater on December 21st, 1977 supporting the band Blue Oyster Cult.

I possess one of the world's largest AC/DC collections, and plan to have my own publication about the band in the future. I was hired in 2008 by a marketing firm to help promote and market AC/DC's "BLACK ICE" release and the AC/DC "Rock Band" game in New York City. I also have participated in several other marketing and promotional campaigns for AC/DC. Most recently, I have contributed to a new book by Phil Sutcliffe "AC/DC: The Ultimate Illustrated History" as well as penning an AC/DC Collectibles article for Record Collector magazine (UK).
