Subject: September 4, 1976 BBC Show
Question QUESTION: Hello,
I have an AC/DC special called "High Voltage". It's BBC recordings from 76' 77'
79'. I was wondering if you could give some background information? What was
the date of the shows, the venue and any other info on the shows and
recordings. Thank you. The 1976 version of Soul Stripper is the coolest thing
I've ever heard.
ANSWER: Hello Bryan,
Thank you for your question. I would need more specific information regarding the "AC/DC Special" you are referring to, but I'm assuming it's either a radio show broadcast CD or a bootleg.
The BBC recording from 1976 that you are referring to (with "Soul Stripper") is commonly known as the "BBC Transcription Services" broadcast from 1976. This took place at the Paris Theatre, London, England, September 4, 1976.
Best Regards,
Bill

QUESTION: Bill,
Thank you for your time and expertise. You are correct it is a radio show
hosted by a lady named Tawn Mastery, I believe. She called keeps saying
welcome to "High Voltage" BBC shows from 76, 77, 79. What was the
complete set list for the 1976 Transcription Services Show? How can I get a
copy of the complete show? Thank you.
Answer Hi Bryan,
Thanks again for your question.
The complete set list for the 1976 BBC show was:
Live Wire
It's a Long Way to the Top
Soul Stripper
High Voltage
Baby Please Don't Go
It is not commercially available on any official release by the band, however it was available on unofficial live LP & CD. (ie. BBC Transcription Services 76, and others).
Best Regards,
Bill
