Question
Dear Terry,

does the initial HIV symptoms including the enlarging of lymph nodes. what the other symptoms.. does it effect jointly or separately and sequenced..how much does it need to start appearing after the transition..thank you

Answer
Dear Husam:

Peace.  HIV is not diagnosed by symptoms of initial infection; persons diagnosed with HIV by means of blood test sometimes report that they experienced cold or flu-like symptoms, sometimes with swollen glands and rash.  The difference is significant, because there are many more colds and flus making people ill than there are HIV infections.  The way to diagnose HIV is fromm a blood test.

For more information on HIV pathogenesis (disease progression) go to www.avert.org and it will explain this in detail.

Best to you and yours,

Terry
