Question
i was washing cloth several other clothes , then i washed it hes yesterday when i came across apair of  socks with blood which was uses on monday . the sock was in a bag with several other clothes , i washed it with my hands i had an open wound , could i be infected . note the sock is the one which had blood . then i washed.

Answer
Dear Akello:

Peace.  Between the probable drying of the blood on the sock(and desiccation of cells that might have contained HIV), the dilution of any fluids in the wash water, and at least partial healing of your cut (you were not actively bleeding into the wash water), there is no risk of HIV transmission in what you describe.

Sincerely,

Terry
